Clock in Amber
06:02
|
|||
raindrops taken from eyelashes
driftwood washes on fallen shores
green cut from grey
white forgotten, ignored
the path of memory
past modernity
a keyhole glimpse of past and future
opposing faces of the same stone
with eyes the color of our failures
eyes locked as two mirrors
meets their gaze in hues of now
as colors bleed and blend
as raindrops catch and blur
a prayer outside of time
now is all I have

Where the Waves
05:08
|
|||
glowing souls pass among the trees
perhaps to find a trail
across the silver sea
to time
lead us starborn
past the glassy mirror moon
through the deepening night
lead us starborn
to the utter east
to where the sky meets the land
to December's star whose light is love
to time
to where the waves grow sweet
to December's star whose light is love

Image of Solemn Night
05:56
|
|||
came to you in wistful summers
of blackened skies and fallen stars overhead
and endlessly fallen through it seems
the story remains:
I upon the fading sea
searching out foreign shores
where yesterday's promises have come to life
where I'll find myself asleep inside your warm embrace
my thoughts dancing away to you
shame has broken my heart
and endless love has promised the hollow shall be full

Beryl and Jasper
06:10
|
|||
across the back of Leviathan
heavens roll away
this white stone once embedded
so it's letters formed your name
decrescent aurora garlands
once bestrewn with boughs of licorice dawn
now pallid as the cloud of ash over Pompeii
clothed in suns
ten goats hanging frame a midland palette
where penstrokes cry for friends who've died
from their gaping throats I hear a lion roaring
but when I turn I see a lamb
(whispers drip
the author's tongue
martyred eyes
behold the sun
peals of spring
our father's cry
mosaic dreams
branches crystalline)
upon my door
your knocking falls in torrents
like the empathy that wets my cheeks
from eyes which claim to see
"Come in," I say
its warm here
still I know this door has only one handle
but its on my side
some say Nero's gone
some say that he'll come back
we'll find Rome dipped bridle deep in blood
and stirred in sulfur
soon this all will melt away
in beryl and jasper
but inside there's a river
